About Tom Till

Tom Till, one of America’s foremost landscape photographers, has enjoyed a fifty-year career marked by authoring over 30 books, publishing hundreds of thousands of images, and exhibiting prints across the United States and internationally.

Outdoor Photographer Magazine hailed him as one of the “Lords of Landscape Photography” and dubbed him “legendary.” Till’s work has been integral to numerous environmental campaigns in Utah, the Southwest, and beyond, including efforts to preserve Canyonlands National Park, establish Grand Staircase/Escalante National Monument, and remove hazardous uranium tailings near his hometown of Moab.

Till operated a retail store in Moab, Utah selling millions of dollars worth of his images in paper, metal, acrylic, and canvas formats for over 25 years. Although best known for his work in Utah, the Rockies, and the Four Corners, Tom is an avid traveler with his wife Nancy Anderson. Till has captured images in all fifty U.S. states and 114 countries worldwide. His photographs of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, sponsored by UNESCO and the United States State Department, toured globally for many years. Reflecting on his career, Till expressed gratitude, stating, “I have won life’s lottery with my work. I am constantly inspired and filled with great joy as I experience and photograph the infinite beauty of the landscapes of the Earth.” Till’s contributions to photography have earned him accolades such as the 2013 Ben Franklin Award for his book “Photographing the World,” a Fellow award from the North American Nature Photography Association, and induction into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2013, Till received the Utah Governor’s Mansion Art Award. He currently resides in Moab, Utah.
